Professor Henrique Martins (MD, PhD, MLaw, FIAHSI) is an internationally recognised expert in digital health and healthcare systems transformation, with extensive leadership experience at both national and international levels. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in advancing digital health strategies, interoperability, and innovation across healthcare systems.

He previously served as President of SPMS, Portugal's Digital Health Agency, and as co-chair of the European Union eHealth Network, contributing significantly to the development and implementation of digital health policies and initiatives across Europe. In addition, he has advised the World Health Organization (WHO) on digital innovation and patient safety, supporting global efforts to strengthen healthcare through technology-enabled solutions.

Professor Martins currently holds academic appointments at ISCTE Business School, the University of Beira Interior (UBI), and Korea University Medicine. He also coordinates major European Union-funded projects focused on digital health interoperability and the transformation of healthcare delivery through innovative technologies.

As WP1 Project Coordinator, he serves as Strategic Advisor and Senior Digital Health Expert for the project. In this role, he contributes his expertise in digital health strategy, interoperability, leadership, and innovation, ensuring alignment with international standards and supporting both the clinical and technical workstreams to maximise the project's impact.

Diogo Martins holds a degree in Health Equipment and Technology, and a master's degree in healthcare information systems management through a joint programme between the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and the University of Porto. His master's research focused on the impact of mobile health technologies on healthcare delivery and the adoption of digital solutions in clinical practice.

Throughout his career, Diogo has worked at the intersection of healthcare, digital transformation, and health information systems. His experience includes roles as a Medical Devices Consultant, Key Account Manager, ICT Project Manager, Head of International Projects and International Cooperation at SPMS, and Client Delivery Manager at Glintt Global. He has contributed to numerous European initiatives in digital health, interoperability, health data sharing, telemedicine, and patient empowerment, including X-eHealth, eHAction, and HEALTHeID.

Diogo serves as the i2X Manager and co-leads WP1, supporting the coordination of all WPs, leveraging his expertise to bridge technical innovation with healthcare needs, on other European digital health projects such as the MyHealthMyHands project. He is also a PhD candidate at the BRU-IUL – Business Research Unit focusing on digital health transformation, interoperability, and health data ecosystems, and a Guest Lecturer at ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.

Haralampos Karanikas is Associate Professor of Medical Informatics and eHealth Systems at the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics, University of Thessaly, Greece. He is a recognised expert in digital health, healthcare interoperability, and health information systems, with extensive experience in the design, implementation, and governance of eHealth services at both national and international levels.

He serves as an eHealth consultant to the Athens Medical Society and contributes to the development of prescription protocols integrated into Greece's national electronic prescription system. He is also General Secretary of the Greek Society of eHealth Services and Education (EEMEPY), a Board Member of HL7 Hellas, and a member of the National Committee for the Implementation of Protocols and Monitoring of Pharmaceutical Expenditure under the Ministry of Health.

Professor Karanikas has provided senior advisory services to international organisations, including the World Health Organization (WHO Regional Office for Europe), Expertise France, and IHE Catalyst. His research interests include eHealth, electronic health records, patient registries, ePrescription, telemedicine, interoperability, health data management, data and text mining, ontologies, and business intelligence.

He has participated in numerous European projects, including PARMENIDES, PARENT, EUnetHTA, UNICOM, X-eHealth, XpanDH, XT-EHR and others. Within the project, he leads Work Package 2 (WP2) and leads Task 5.2, contributing expertise in digital health, interoperability, and healthcare innovation.

Dr. Alexander Berler is a biomedical engineer with a PhD in Medical Informatics, and extensive expertise in digital health, healthcare interoperability, and health information systems. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to research, consulting, standards implementation, and international collaboration, supporting the adoption of interoperable digital health solutions across Europe and beyond.

He currently serves as Strategic Business Development Director at IHE Catalyst AISBL, where he promotes interoperability testing, standards adoption, and cross-border health data exchange initiatives. In addition, he serves as Vice-Chair of HL7 Hellas, advancing healthcare interoperability standards and best practices within Greece and the broader European digital health community.

Dr. Berler has worked closely with healthcare providers, public authorities, industry stakeholders, and standards organisations on electronic health records, interoperability frameworks, conformance testing, and large-scale health data exchange initiatives. His work aims to enable secure, standards-based information sharing that enhances healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.

Within the project, Dr. Berler leads Work Package 3 (WP3), dedicated to the EEHRxF Testing and Implementation Lab and Specifications. He oversees the development of testing strategies, laboratory operations, and validation processes to ensure the effective implementation of interoperable digital health solutions.

Nicole Veggiotti is a bioengineer with a strong focus on knowledge modelling and digital health interoperability. In her role as European Affairs Project Owner at IHE Catalyst, she drives EU-funded projects that promote interoperable healthcare solutions. Additionally, as the IHE Connectathon Manager, she oversees key events that support the testing and validation of healthcare standards.

Currently leading Work Package 3 (WP3), Nicole is responsible for the EEHRxF Testing and Implementation Lab and Specifications. She co-leads the design of validation strategies and manages the lab's day-to-day operations. Alongside her technical coordination duties, she acts as the Communication Representative for IHE Catalyst, helping to engage stakeholders and share project results. Her background brings together technical expertise and solid project management to effectively advance digital health workflows.

Dr. Maria Marques holds a PhD in Electrical and Computers Engineering. She has more than 20 years of experience in research and innovation for building technologically enabled environments for digital health. Her research interests include data management and connected infrastructure of wearables, (medical) smart devices, and software applications, integrated into health systems to provide better and more personalised services for society.

She is Principal Researcher at NOVA School of Science and Technology – UNL and at UNINOVA. She is the Head of Innovation and Development and President of the Executive Committee at IDEA, and an independent expert to the European Commission in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, interoperability, and decision support systems. She has led international and multidisciplinary teams in several R&I EU-funded projects such as Smart4Health (deputy coordinator), XpanDH (WP leader for feasibility demonstration), and xShare (WP co-leader for patient-mediated health data exchange). She is author of several scientific publications debating the usage of technology to ensure seamless integration in health environments.

Within the project, Dr. Marques leads Work Package 4 (WP4), overseeing the development and validation of the Patient Summary, ePrescription, and eDispensation demonstrators, while contributing her expertise in interoperability, digital health systems, and data-driven decision support.

Dr. Stefano Dalmiani, M.Sc., C.S. serves as Chief Digital Officer, Head of the Bioengineering Department, and Head of the Translational Bioinformatics and eHealth Unit at Monasterio Foundation Public Research Hospitals (FTGM) in Pisa, Italy. With nearly three decades of experience in digital health innovation, he has led the research and development of advanced methodologies and platforms for clinical data management, electronic health records (EHRs), and data-driven healthcare ecosystems that support both clinical practice and biomedical research.

His work has increasingly focused on the application of Artificial Intelligence, spanning Deep Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), Foundation Models, and the cybersecurity challenges associated with their deployment in healthcare environments. Dr. Dalmiani has coordinated and contributed to more than 30 European and national research projects and grants, driving innovation at the intersection of health, data science, and digital transformation.

A recognised leader in the international digital health community, he serves as a Board Member of HL7 Italy and HL7 Europe and has been a member of HIMSS since 2012. He has authored more than 80 scientific publications in digital health and medical research and currently chairs the "Hospitals on FHIR" network. Within the i2X project, he leads Work Package 5, advancing interoperable and AI-enabled healthcare solutions across Europe.

Eracles Kyriakides serves as Senior Officer Head of Health Data Bank at the National eHealth Authority of Cyprus (NeHA) and plays a leading role in the coordination and implementation of national and European digital health initiatives. With extensive experience in digital health governance, health information systems and European collaboration, he has contributed to the strategic development of policies and initiatives that support healthcare digitalisation, interoperability and health data exchange at both national and European levels.

Over the years, he has been actively involved in several major European projects and initiatives related to eHealth, interoperability and the European Health Data Space (EHDS), supporting the alignment of national priorities with evolving European frameworks and regulations. His work focuses on fostering collaboration among public authorities, healthcare providers, research institutions and other stakeholders to advance the adoption of interoperable digital health services and data-driven healthcare solutions.

Within the project, Eracles leads WP6, providing strategic oversight across project activities and supporting coordination, governance, stakeholder engagement and the successful delivery of project objectives, while promoting collaboration among partners and contributing to the wider European digital health ecosystem.

Antonis Stylianides is a key member of the coordination team for European digital health initiatives at NeHA, contributing to the planning, implementation and management of projects that support the advancement of digital health services, interoperability and the EHDS.

He has been actively involved in several major European eHealth projects, including Xt-EHR, CY-EHDS-2ND, VELES, TEHDAS2 and xShare. Through these initiatives, he has contributed to a wide range of project activities, supporting the development of deliverables, stakeholder engagement, coordination efforts and the implementation of technical and policy-related work. His experience spans cross-border collaboration, digital health governance, health data exchange, public health and the adoption of European interoperability standards.

Working within a dynamic European digital health ecosystem, Antonis has gained valuable expertise in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and supporting projects aimed at strengthening healthcare systems through innovative digital solutions. His involvement in multiple EU-funded initiatives has enabled him to contribute to the development of digital transformation.

Within the project, Antonis serves as the representative of Eracles Kyriakides and contributes across Work Packages 1–3 and 5–7, supporting project coordination, technical activities, stakeholder engagement, dissemination and implementation efforts.

Dr. Lina Nikolopoulou is a communication expert, entrepreneur, and biologist with a PhD in Physiology from the University of Oxford. She spent six years in academic research at leading UK institutions, including the Universities of Oxford, London, and Bristol, before building a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years across the pharmaceutical, healthcare services, ICT, scientific publishing, events and conferences, and communication strategy sectors.

She is the founder of MINDWORK and MINDVIEW, consulting companies specialising in healthcare services, communication strategy, continuous professional education, event organisation, publishing, and market research, serving the pharmaceutical and broader healthcare industries. Throughout her career, she has been a strong advocate for innovation and public health, initiating several influential initiatives, including eHealth Forum, which promotes innovation in digital health as a driver of healthcare reform and growth; S.CO.H.RE., which advocates for smoking control and tobacco harm reduction; and Action4obesity, which contributes to efforts addressing obesity and its societal impact.

Within the project, Lina leads Work Package 7 (WP7), overseeing dissemination, outreach, and exploitation activities to maximise the visibility, impact, and uptake of the project's outcomes.
